Sad thing is, last summer was the final harvest from my Desert King. I am going to miss this wonderful fig and the abundance, not just for myself, but for all the people I shared them with. I introduced many to their first taste of fresh figs.
When I joined f4f, it was because of my Desert King. I knew that one day we would be moving and I wanted figs trees to go with me when that happened.
I am so thankful I found this forum and great people here to help me do just that.
It has taken a few years, but the business park across the street from us is nearly complete, our little two lane street was expanded to 5 lanes a couple years ago. Currently our road is being extended to the light rail station and airport scheduled for completion later this year. Developer have now turned their attention to properties on our side to the road.
I really, was hoping for just one more harvest, but it is not going to happen.
I will miss my magic fig tree, but I have her daughters.
