Ain't it grand when a plan comes together?

I potted these cuttings up a couple weeks ago in a cactus soil/pine chips mixture after 3-5 weeks in baggies with sphagnum moss. I am impressed that I refrained from drowning them this year (so far). ;-)

I think I will leave them in these bottles for a longer time even though roots are coming out the bottom holes. Last year I may have moved them too soon to a 1-gal and I lost some I should not have lost.

Imagine my surprise when looking close at the plants, I saw what I thought was a leaf but it is a fig (see last picture)! I'll cut it off so the plant can concentrate on roots.

Congrats Sue. I like the size of the roots.

Sue, looks like you really got them going. nice job. I agree with you about leaving them in the cups longer. I damaged one of mine recently in moving it up to a pot by accidently tearing off some roots. It wilted badly but it's hanging on and I think it will make it.  "gene"

Way to go Sue !
Now when you get too many figs off them plants send the figs only may way  no plants !!!  ; )

Good Job Sue, I been adding a little pine bark to my mix as well when I transfer the cuttings into cups and have been happy with the results. Your Pingo De Mel has nice thick roots congrats.

Nice job Sue. Those look nice & healthy. That's an easy mix, too! Thanks

WHAT  a dizzying bunch of roots!
Tried my first clear plastic cup today with a rooting Negronne. I've got big plans & yes the tendency to over-water has done them in in prior years.
Will let you all know.
Thanks for the great pics, Sue.
