Thanks so much for the information on air layering a larger limb. Much appreciated. I've got this thread in my favorites, for reference.
Many years ago, before we even had a computer, never mind being online, I was looking at my fig tree I had at that time. I knew fig trees would grow roots from the trunk if the soil was built up around the trunk--also, a branch would root if it drooped low enough and touched the soil--and was wondering if I got some plastic wrap and put some soil into it and wrapped it around a branch, why wouldn't it take root? I never did try it, but kept it in mind and was so tickled to read about air layering on this site and GW, as well.
