air layers yay

i am going to be doing some air layers of my trees. as i stated before they were all top killed over winter. i plant these trees in ground in my zone six southern Illinois. i started a rdb air layer a few weeks ago and it is now showing roots.

trees i will be air layering
RdB
MvsB
Celeste
Desert King
Adriatic

think i can pull off about 12 air layers with my clam shell pots.
just need the time to get to it. kinda hard when im working at a long term care home. did just have an interview at a local hospital doing med/surg. if i get it it will be three 12s a week giving me some time but thinking about working both before going back to school for my asn RN. alot of schooling but will be worth it in the end. wish i would had done this sooner.

yes all are in ground, i have been testing diff typs for cold hardynes trying to see what will make it through are at least come back and give a crop. this fall i will have more info on that but have some findings so far.

Thanx

i have a small collection of about 25 trees. ill have to take inventory as i lost some over winter. so far i can report that the adriatic i have has survived every year, hardy chicago was rop killed for the first time this past winter. MvsB, sal's G, brown turkey, celeste and many more have come back. lost one of two RdB
