I have been neglecting my Salem Dark for at least 3 seasons. It was totally neglected as I was given a surplus twig & donater had forgotten whether it was white or dark fig. It was left out to survive on its own 1 gal pot. Well, it survived & grew into a beautiful tree, about 5 plus ft tall, well branched. This season, I was surprise to find it had many ripe main crop figs. It was not kept with my other favoured fig variants. They sure tasted good. Tree still has one gal pot attached with its roots well entrenched. Quite a productive tree too. What a survivor.
