since joining here I have been reading about figs and did not know there was so many different types.
Good thing my walk in basement is 14 ft x 60 ft so I can start growing lots of figs.

yep 2/3 of the basement is set in a hillside the front and 1/3 of 2 sides are walls and it faces north and the wood stove is in it also

Sounds lovely! There's nothing like wood heat....I love it!  I have a wood cook stove and an outdoor wood furnace, and wouldn't trade them for anything. :)
