Alma on Ebay

There is a guy in San Antonio selling Alma yearlings and I have purchased 2. Quite nice little trees and more substantial than some of the "large" trees I have purchased elsewhere. I told him I was going to tell my fig friends and he said to let him know I sent you and he will make sure he hand picks your tree.

For under $4 it's a winner.

I don't personally know this person and am getting nothing out of this, just letting you guys know.

Tami, thanks for the info, I just got 2 myself for a friend.

No problem, that's one heck of a deal, wanted to share.

Do you have a picture of the tree he sent you? I would like to see the quality of it.

It's dark now but I'll take some tomorrow.

Oh my..sooo tempting. Thank you for sharing that! His picture of it looks good and healthy.

Thanks for sharing looks like a really good deal.

goss

I bought three and he threw in another for free. Look like 2nd year plants vs ones rooted this year.  Very nice roots and pruned stock, here's a picture

Thanks for the heads-up on the eBay sale.  I placed an order for 2 because they were so inexpensive.

That's what I did. I can't get ripped off I still have 2 fig trees for less than I've paid for a tiny one. I just have a hard time walking away from a bargain.

I don't know. He has the same picture up for his Black Mission figs and how can they be bare root "dormant" at this time of year?

Also his description is straight from this forums varieties page! Look towards the end of the sellers description. He even left the links.

Maybe completely righteous but it looks funny to me.

The ones he sent me are dormant with green tips just starting.

That's why I was asking for a picture of the plant he sent.

Tami, ... Thanks for posting info... For the price, you cant go wrong. $8.00 each if you purchase 2!!! Its less expensive than purchasing cuttings, and with care you may have a harvest this year.

Darkman, ... Many larger nurseries that handle large volumes of bare root plants have large refrigerated rooms or buildings.. I've purchase bare root plants in late spring that have been stored in these refrigerators which maintain constant temperatures, above freezing. Same as storing Fig cuttings in your home refrigerator.

I thought I was off the hook for pictures after Jack posted his. I am trying to get ready to leave tomorrow, going to Washington State to await the birth of our first grandbaby.

All I can say is, if you have reservations, don't buy one. I took the chance and I get what I get, I'm okay with that. I posted the info in case someone else felt the same way. I have seen quite a few posts on here with info where to get something cheaper and healthier and so forth, was just passing it along.

Tami - safe trip and congrats on your first grandbaby !!

I'm not worried about the pictures because someone posted it. I was just stating why I asked for pictures since seller had same pictures for two trees.

TYTY Pattee...we are pretty excited!

For sure , it's an exciting time . Our newest grandson is 7 weeks old . We have 4 other grandchildren 3 more boys and 1 granddaughter. The older ones happen to love figs! Hence the growing and collecting - oh we love them too ! :-))

That's awesome! Are grandkids as much fun as they're reported to be? We're having a grandson btw. :)

All the fun they're purported to be - laughs galore , inquisitive , helpful , loving ( your heart will almost burst ), eating machines  (haha)- besides when they get to be too much to handle , you can send them home to Mom and Dad !! LOL

Tami, I can't think of anything more fun than grandkids. I have two boys 10 and 7. Wait until one calls you granny. Have a great trip
and post a pic please.

Mike it's so funny our 9yr old grandson calls me grandma, the 7 yr old grandson calls me grammy, the 5 yr old grandson says "gwam" and our 3yr old granddaughter says "gam mama" ! Love it !

They are amazing and what ever they choose to call us just awesome.

Just ordered two for myself, thanks Tami!
