I purchased two of the bare root Alma figs based on comments I had seen on the forum and was not disappointed. I received large well rooted plants which I soaked briefly and promptly potted up and put outside. There were very few broken roots to trim.
They are already putting out new growth and seem happy as ducks in water. Considering that we have received 18" of rain in the past 10 days and it looks like another week of an inch or two a day heading our way, I have been keeping them mostly under shelter rather than putting them in the nursery and risking root rot. Felt sort of bad for the seller because my husband did the review of the purchase and sort of said, well they were what we ordered, they arrived and they were alive. Felt the seller deserved a better write up than that so I sent in some revised comments. Hopefully he knows now that the quality of his plants was recognized and that his plants did not end up in the home of totally unappreciative fig heathens.
I have had them almost a week and if anyone is interested, will be glad to post a picture of what they look like now. Cute little shiny leaves sprouting everywhere.
