Almost success...

My first dormant cutting experience has gone good so far. I haven't lost any yet and most have been cupped for 2 weeks now and the rest last week. Included are some pics of my set up and few pics of my potted blues in the drive way before the freeze we had a few weeks back. The mix I used is 2-1 perlite and Scott's potting mix. I added a dash of dolomite lime and Micro Life organic fert. It's got all the beneficial fungi and what not in it and I haven't found a plant that doesn't like it. I took 2 clear bins, cut out most of the lid and taped clear plastic over the holes and placed them in a south facing window. I've kept 2 corners slightly opened on each bin for air and placed a cup of water in each one for alittle humidity. Most have sprouted and others are swelling so all is good so far. I also put a humidifier in the room to keep the air from being to dry which I believe has allowed me to keep the bins lids cracked open at all

If all goes my way I will have several CDDN rooted and ready for trade in the near future thanks to a very generous forum member. If anyone has CDDB or CDDG and wants CDDN please PM me. I could sweeten the deal as well with other rooted varieties listed below.

Looking good:)  You know I still have not planted those Tupi you sent me...I need to add that to tomorrows to do list.

Nice setup!  I hope everything thrives for you.

I haven't planted mine either, I may put them in pots tomarrow as well, I wanted to wait until the temps quit swinging so much

If these cuttings are in a window with direct sunlight will they be considered hardend off or should I ease them into the sun when put outside?

ease them, better safe than sorry.

10-4

So I got a trade for CDDB, only one more trade needed for a CDDG.........then my fig collection is done, forever!!!!

I will probably have extra GDDG for you.

Your the best I know;) I am forever in debt to you Bam, you've done too much for me already

Complete?! So now what do I have to trade to get one of those CDDNs? A hug?

Lol, I'm really done! I promise! I don't have room for the cuttings I already have. I'm trying to plant figs in all my family and friends yards that will let me so I have access to them still. I will still have quite a few to get rid of after all that and I plan on offering them to everyone that's helped me along the way so far. What's left after that I will offer on here. First come first serve.

Blueboy,

You are growing all the varieties that I wish I have hmmmm....can't say that my collection is complete unless I have all those.

Oops, I do have black madeira and MBvs rooting

Todays windows typically have a coating that reduces the sunlight intensity a great deal on the inside.  You know, keep your house cooler, reduce furniture/carpet fading.  So go very slow introducing your new figlets to sun, especially southern sun or you will end up with this........

The tree did survive.

Thanks Steve, that plant got a little hair lipped but glad to hear it pulled through. I will ease them into the sun. In a few more weeks you should be in the clear to get your plant. I will let you know

Steve, this is off topic but I think it was you who wrote about a favorite blueberry. What was the name? Part of it was Sweet it think.

I'm not Steve but can answer:)  Sweetcrisp!  They are awesome.  Of my 200ish bushes 50 are Sweetcrisps.

Is Sweetcrisp a Rabbiteye?  Those are the only ones I've had to take the heat in part sun.  Southern highbush haven't worked.

I apologize for hijacking, but really curious about things that i like (love blueberries) that might grow here.

No it is shb. Takes Florida heat just fine....so mid 90's.
