Greetings, everyone!
I have been reading this forum a while and have learnt a lot about how to care figs. I figured that it is time for me to introduce myself to my fellow fig lovers.
I live in Maryland and have several fig trees (HC and RdB) in my yard. My family like these dark-colored figs very much. The only complaint that I have is that I have to do heavy winter-protections on them otherwise they die back to ground.
I have been thinking of growing paw paw trees as well, since they are much more cold-hardy. It is very nice to read some recent discussions on paw paws.
I and my family tasted some wild paw paws previously. Some of the wild paw paws that we tried had white flesh, tasting like banana+avacado. Some of them had yellowish flesh, tasting more like mango. My whole family like the fruit of mango very much, and thus enjoyed the paw paws with yellowish flesh a lot.
Now I am trying to get two or three varieties of paw paw. I have a question for these paw paw experts. Which variety has the strongest mango flavour? More specifically, does the "Mango" variety have a strong mango flavour as its name suggests? How about Wabash and Susquehanna, do they have strong mango flavour as well?
Thanks for any of your inputs!
