at mi 2:15 there are some aluminum pie plates spinning! Wonder how good they scare the birds.. Does anyone here use this method?

Grasa , I've tried alum pie plates , old cd's, aluminum foil strips and the birds (cardinals) here just laughed and managed to get quite a few figs and blueberries. I finally tried row covers and then went to gauze bags that someone here (sorry forgot who) had luck with. She bought them on ebay ,  you have to cover each fig . The 4"x4" size was the best I found .
I've yet to try rubber snakes .

That is one huge tree. I wish I could get cuttings from that tree.
