It is about time to start a new thread about “Annual Wish-List of 6 most desirable cuttings for 2014-15 ".

Many members have started listing their wish-list under their signature. That is one way to seek trade opportunity.
And this Annual Wish-List thread is another way of seeking what you are looking for in the coming season and provides opportunities for making  trades or acquiring cuttings or plants in any other way. It provides a single place/thread to find out who is seeking what that you may have for initiating a trade opportunity.

This thread may not be helpful to all but I am posting it with the thought that it still may help some members.

So, if you have some cuttings on your wish-list, please list only the 6 most desirable cuttings on your wish-list for the year 2014-15.

To make the thread efficient, it is advisable:

(i) .. To have only one post per member with the actual wish-list,keeping it updated as required in order to keep your post valid and the threadefficient.

(II).. Trade related mutual discussions should be done outside the thread through PMs or emailsl.

Good luck with your Wish-List.

Here is my wish-list of six:

1- Maltese Beauty   ( promise ...thank you )

2- Ice Crystal     received ...thank you )
3-  Sbayi

4- Deanna          ( received ...thank you.... died...received again )

5- Niagara Black  (received ...thank you )
6- Galicia Negra

I have cuttings for trade in exchange (....or for the cost of postage and handling if that is preferred).

I pick my variety's mostly on cold hardiness. I had a lot of success rooting, with a couple exceptions, so I looking forward to trading some of my duplicates for these.

1. Black Bethlehem  (had 6 cuttings from a generous member and all failed)
2. Black Greek (cold hardy)
3. Hardy Hartford (had cuttings but all failed)
4. Macool ( good taste)
5. Keddie ( cold hardy)
6. Lyndhurst White ( don't have a lot of green figs and it seems cold hardy)

Others:
Sweet George,Salem Dark,  Ladreck English Brown Turkey, and few unknowns that survived this winter.
I think this year will be last for rooting because I am nearing full capacity

Especially desired figs: UCD 187-25, UCD 200-48, UCD 157-17, UCD 309-B1, Princesa, Black Madeira, high quality sugar fig that ripens Sept-Oct.

Probable desired fig: Smith, St Jean, JH Adriatic, CddB, Gulbun, Pastilliere, Sucrette

Rooting:  Smith, CDDB--this pretty much means I have my fun tries (tho' important since they are truly desirable), and only interested for this year: Gulbun, BM, 187-25, or something wildly exotic or precious that nobody has any good reason to send me.

Only got room for one more!

CDDG

I've already got CDDN and believe I have a trade in the works for CDDB so only the Gris is missing for the 3 sisters to complete my collection. I just may have to throw in the towel after she makes it home. I have an extra CDDN, Atreano, Unknown Peach/Apricot or RDB to trade for Gris if anyone is interested.

What the heck....

Maltese Falcon
Maltese Beauty

Now Im done!!!! No more figs!!!!!

Hi,
What can come and be presented as a work horse and good. But I'm not for now actively searching, just lurking around and if it can happen then :
1. Desert king
2. Hardy chicago
3. Lampo's collection <-- that does count for 1 or ?
4. Noire de whatever ( Caromb, sollies, barbentane ...)
5. I would need to rent the garden of my neighbors for space to, so I'll stop for now .

@OttawanZ5: I have Ice crystal . - Did you read the post about Icecrystal ? ... Mine just dropped the crop -10 figs-, and Bass had "suggested" (before I could see with my own eyes ) that strain is a smyrna - no wasp no crop - ... Damn it !
I hate nurseries hiding or not understanding the importance of such a detail ! I'll give one year or two more to mine - just in case ... I have to check if I have a money back warranty for such a misinformation from the nursery !

that Celeste/Unknown strain that tastes like a peach sounds like fun.
I think I have most of my wish list lined up, it'll depend on how airlayers took.
I'm looking for good taste, cold hardy, able to tolerate hot dry summers.

All I'll have ready to take cuttings off of for trade is an unknown, very probably Celeste.

Seeking via trade top six, more or less randomly:

Saint Rita
Negretta
Scott's Yellow
Native Black
Rosetta
Italian 258

To trade, I have mainly the standard varieties and some of what I call "mountain figs" - relatively cold hardy cultivars that are typically early ripening. Those "mountain figs" would be mostly Mount Etna cultivars among other particular darks, and a particular Brooklyn White (which may be a precocious Marseilles White) and Binello, which may be Gallo, among another light or two.

Hmm.. My fig trees are still too small to procure cuttings from, but I'd happily pay for postage and whatever else for cuttings (rooted cuttings would be simply fantastic). So, in no particular order, my wish list is:

- Persian White
- Lebanese Red (Bass)
- Figo Preto
- Capelas
- CdDB
- Desert King

There's a few others listed in my signature, but these are the ones I'm really itching to get my greedy hands on :D And whatever adapts well to containers yet still tastes amazing in such a hot, humid, somewhat short season climate like mine will do too. Hope santa delivers to all you fig enthusiasts!

I plan on having members recommending 40 must have figs and start trading 2,3,4 of mine for one of them., that is for the ones that I do not have on the list. Then after I have my 40, I will give the rest away. Unfortunately, I just up-potted approx. 60 from 1gallon to 3gallon, so they may have to be shipped dormant/bare root, or what ever the receiver wants.
