Another mislabeled fig tree ? !

I thought that I had enough my fair share of getting wrong fruit trees, then came along the fig trees when I started it a couple of years ago...So far, out of four trees that I bought, I had one mislabeled as Black Mission, and one Ischia (white) with incorrect picture (Green Ischia), and two small fig trees from Wellspring.  Y'all know that fig plants from Wellspring are tiny, but they grow very fast.  So fast that one of them, Olympian in 3 gal pot has fruited and ripened.  I am actually surprised that it is ready to be picked because it does not look like the fruit from Olympian fig tree...The fig is actually light green with a light tan pulp.  It is a little unripe by a day or so, but it fell off the tree with little twisting action and no white latex sap on the stem.  So is this fig an Olympian variety or something else?  No seed crunch feel at all and hallow in the center.  The eye is small.  The taste is kind of juicy, melon-y, not very sweet with hint of brown sugar flavor. It appears to me that I hit another kind of jackpot ... three out of four fig trees that I got are either mis-labeled, or mis-represented.  What a luck...

I know the feeling, the first 3 trees I bought before I found the forums have all been wrong so far. Its disappointing to be ready for berry flavor and wind up with melon. Well I have 2 more ripening I hope they at least taste good. Yours looks pretty good!!!

Look like you did worse than me before joining the f4f forum so far.  I hope my last fig tree of the four (a Desert King) will be true to its tag name...

I hope it is it's so disappointing , not to mention I don't want to trade anything until they get fruit now. I don't want to pass along a mislabeled fig to make matters worse!!

I would say that over 60% of the trees I have bought from nurseries have been miss-labeled. I have notified the nurseries each time, and some of the wholesale growers. None of them cared. They seem to believe that they general customer doesn't care either (and that is probably true for the average buyer).

I contacted Wellspring on Ebay twice about this mislabeling tree and asked them to resolve the issue.  Unfortunately, Wellspring has not responded my emails at all...I sent them the fig pictures shown above and another fig like like hoping that they can take a responsible action of either replacing the tree or refund me.  So far, no luck.  This would normally be resolved quickly with your local nurseries/big box stores, but not with Wellspring.  I can not speak to other Ebay sellers, but on Wellspring, I highly recommend our newbies on this forum and elsewhere not to purchase trees from this Ebay seller on line.  Mistakes do happen and I understand that.  It is the lack of corrective actions that piss me off.
