Another photo

Sorry in my earlier posting the photo did not get displayed. No doubt it was my fault.
Going to give it another try.

This photo has two of my Domenico It/Swiss Dark fig hanging from the tree at this time. I started out with 17 first crop figs on the tree but a few fell off then taking it outdoors I lost more of the figs.

This fig came to me by my relative living in Switzerland. He get loads of figs from his in the ground  tree every year enough that he makes jam as well

I will post photos when the fig ripens and also provide photos of the interior as well.

Again sorry about my first posting.

ok thanks for the info Lou .

I am in zone 5 and also grow in pots

Hi Lou.
Great looking fig, how big is the tree?
Looking forward to see you at Bass's gathering.
Vito

Hi Vito,
I am planning on attending the fig gathering at Bass's home and look forward to seeing you again. Is your brother going along with you?

Just guessing it stand about 7 feet tall might be even taller if I measure to the ends of the longest branches. It really stands up well to the cold weather storage in my garage.
Lou
PS: The second crop is has smooth skin.

Yes Lou my brother is coming.

Lou, when ripe is this fig a black or a white fig what colour is interior?

First crop fig are called breba in Spanish/fioroni in Italian).  These seem to be a bit shrivelled.  Unless they are almost ripe they may be ready to fall off.
This year I had a 1 yr old conadria (2nd year plant) with 7 fioroni(breba) and they all ended up falling off.  I think most first crop on common figs fall off except for a few varieties (mostly San Pedro types).

For this fig the main crop sounds bountiful though!  Good luck and hope you get lots of figs!

The fig is a dark color and so is the interior. Pino the figs are not shrivilled up. This variety seems to hold sxomde of the breba crop to full ripness. here are other post I made a while back showing the figs interior. Search for post made by pezzuti9 and the figs name.

Lou
I found your photos of the interior.  Wow very nice!
Also since it grows in Switzerland with so many mountains it should be cold hardy?
