I use osmocote also, I didn't think I should have added it in now since the tree is still dormant.
They'll be fine as long as you keep the trees in the garage.
Cool, I will mix some in. I figure the way the weather is going they will be outside in a few weeks anyway.
I am about to do some up potting and have read all these post about soil. Those who use Pro-mix, do you find it necessary to add fine bark and perlite.I finally found a supplier of Pro-mix BX in the Atlanta area.
Not necessary just optimizing. I find with young trees the pro mix stays too wet but with mature trees it is just fine.
If you live in Canada, you might find pro mix at the end of the season, mid to end oct on sale for around 14 bucks a bale at some tsc or rona stores, that's usually when I stock up.
Not that lucky. I paid $28.00 today per bale in the Atlanta area.
