I hope to start useing some small plants and scion to help offset some of the cost of growing them.

If it was my plant I will let it grow naturally for the remainder of the season outside and let it go dormant in a protected place and then store it for the winter with other young plants as usual. I have done this way even for smaller plants with success.

Tom were are you thinking of storing your plant for winter and what are the lowest temperature in that place.

Tom 55 is not ideal temp but in dark they will get light sleep . So i would think your plant will be just fine, perhaps a little grogie from not getting a deep deep snooze but it wont die. Dont let soil get bone dry , and if you give them water give them very very little .
Oh and if have not stop do stop the fertilizer for the plant.

They say ideal temps for storage is about i think somewhere 25 to 35 or 40 ?
Mine see much colder temps and get deep sleep and need a kick start in spring to waken by me wheeling them in and out of garage on nice days or they would awaken a few weeks later than they do .
