I read old post about root suckers as i had no clue what they were.  After reading up on what they are i realized my white ichia has 2 root suckers on them. is this normal?  i didnt see anything with regards to figlets on them.  i will try to get them seperated when they start dormancy. 20150625_064134_resized.jpgThe rest of the tree is filled with figlets as well.

Yes it is normal....you can leave them and grow your fig has a bush or remove them and grow it has a single limb tree....its up to you. If the plan is to remove them you could probably wait till the spring and air layer them ...this will give you 2 new tree

I ended up air layering a few of mine as the upper tree tends to shade the lower part.

thats a good idea, ill have to let them grow a bit more before i can do that.  your suckers seem like they are larger with thicker base.

I actually set that air layer late last year but it didn't take. This shoot grew a ton this year already. I just set some other ones on shoots that were about pencil diameter maybe a bit thicker.
