I read old post about root suckers as i had no clue what they were. After reading up on what they are i realized my white ichia has 2 root suckers on them. is this normal? i didnt see anything with regards to figlets on them. i will try to get them seperated when they start dormancy. The rest of the tree is filled with figlets as well.

Yes it is normal....you can leave them and grow your fig has a bush or remove them and grow it has a single limb tree....its up to you. If the plan is to remove them you could probably wait till the spring and air layer them ...this will give you 2 new tree

I ended up air layering a few of mine as the upper tree tends to shade the lower part.

thats a good idea, ill have to let them grow a bit more before i can do that. your suckers seem like they are larger with thicker base.

I actually set that air layer late last year but it didn't take. This shoot grew a ton this year already. I just set some other ones on shoots that were about pencil diameter maybe a bit thicker.
