Does ant pose any problem for my fig plant. Seem to have some ants on one of my plants . J u st a few ants.. So far I have not seen any problems but need to check with the thanks..t

I get them all over my trees every year.  Doesn't bother them.  When figs start ripening, that is when they will attack the fruit.  Then it's a problem!

Look for midges/gnats. Ants carry them and the midges will sting the fig trees for feeding on the sap ... and you don't want that.
Try and get rid of the ants. I'm using lemons, ashes and used coffee around the trees to kill the ants.
If you find their nest ... Destroy it .
I'm relying on wild ladybugs and lizards to come in and destroy the midges.

Ants will bring scale. Very bad.

I have sugar ants and carnivorous ants on my figs. They eat eachother. There is however, these tiney golden ants that enter the figs' eyes but I tighten the organza bags to stop them.
