I had been waiting for my VdB to ripen figs. Today I picked two that were ready.

my VdB breba is about ripe.. and i'm going out of town on sun. sigh.. i'll probably pick it on late sat. hope it ripes by then..

Congratulations - how did it taste?

My first VDB ripened about 3 weeks ago, and it had a bird peck in it!  It wasn't as good as main crop, but it was sweet enough!  Yours look great!

These came from a VdB that I purchased from EL earlier this year. It started as a whip and I am trying to turn it into a small tree. They are main crop. They tasted excellant. They had a ripe melon/white plum tone to them. Sweet but not as sweet as a celeste. My celeste taste like little sugar cubes.
