Any effect from street lights ?

I have several 25 gallon pots out in front of the house for the first time this year.
There are street lights on both corners of the property.
Does anyone know if there are any positive or negative effects to consider from figs being near street lights ?
Thanks ,

Kerry,

I've wondered this myself. I live on a corner lot and there's a street light on the corner that keeps half of my yard lit through the night. So far I haven't noticed any difference between the plants growing on either side of the property, but I haven't lived here too long, so I'm wondering if there will be long term effects on growth, fruit production, etc.

Would the kind of lighting it is determine the effect it would have on the plants?  I have no idea what spectrum street lights give off.  We have a street light to the right front of our house as we're facing the house.  The carport keeps some of the fig and citrus trees in shadow, but the light hits some of them and I never gave it a thought as to whether the light could affect them.  We have lights that look amber when you look at them.

The light could technically affect them as they use, usually, high pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps, how much affect will it have I'm not sure, the other trees don't seem to be much affected, maples, basswoods, magnolias etc.
