Hey everyone TONYSAC here I found another local and was wondering what you guys might think it is.
The story is I helped this lady last year shovel out her property in that horrible storm we had and I knew she had a tree :) so she said thank you and what do I owe you and I said I live in the other corner house that way and I proceeded to point and said in the spring can I come get some figs and she said (huh FIGS I dont understand) older chinese lady... I had to explain what I was talking about and then she said OHHHH I will bring them to you in the spring when there ripe.
Well she didnt she totally forgot so I went there knocked on the door reminded her who I was and she smiled and said the fruit is no good this year but go look if theres anything on the tree. So I did and this is what I got from it.
She was right the fruit was yuck...

It Is most likely Sicilian White,a good fig in dryer Summer not so good in rainy Summers.
It depends on the Summer,on east coast.

How did it taste?

Had no real taste it was very bland and tasted unripe but yet it was wet inside soft skin hanging like it was ripe and had some sugar at the base?

Hard to say with just one fig and no view of the tree, but in the family of the "honey fig", "Pingo de mel" , "Peter's honey" , "Alma" - look for the "alma sisters" posts .
Those figs need to not crack so that the honey stays inside of the fruit and makes it tasty.
Because that fruit cracked ... It was less tasty .

Hey JD doesn't the peters honey have a golden center.
The center in this was a darker strawberry color and the reason why it split was because it rained the day before I originally thought peters honey until I open the FIG and convinced myself otherwise.

It does seems to favor my Sicilian White as VS stated.  It's not Peter's Honey.  PH is a honey fig with a gold center-----very rich and very sweet.

The leaves are a perfect match of Sicilian White,the fruits too!

  Do you know if all Sicilian White's tend to have flat stems?  Do you know of other figs that have flat stems?
I have an Unk that I picked up from a local nursery -- it was labeled "Large Italian White".

Some of the leaves on my tree resemble some of the leaves Anthony shows above, but I don't have any ripe fruit to compare.

Tony it looks similar to one I have that I call Vince's Unk. which some say maybe White Ischia. Mine will drip honey if allowed to stay on the plant longer.

Jim,I do not Know,about flat stem on Sicilian white,but I know some cultivars do have flat stems on the fruits,it is not unique to your fig.
I did not keep Sicilian white for too long,because it waas behaving just like the fig described in this topic,it can't take rain while it is ripening.
Similar figs to Sicilian white and same problem,i had with Brooklyn white,and Genoa white,and so I think they are the same,and I discarded them all.

They split ans loose flavor in the rain the same and if leaves are the same side by side ,then they will be the same.
I did not grow them side by side,but I have The same bad memory when I grew them separate, mainly bad tasting ,souring in our cool rainy climate,in some Summers.
