any info on Super Patrick's Giant?

Is it worth having?
What is it taste like?
What's the zone?

Tyty special had one it died not worth me getting it again

Sirlampsalot and Ray Givens seem to like it.  They're both in the SE US. 

Yes, I do like Patrick Super Giant.  In zone 7 in a somewhat protected environment it will give 2 equally good fig crops.  Taste is subjective, but it is a fairly large fig, tan to light brown with crunchy seeds and fairly thin skin and amber interior.  Though not my favorite  for taste, it is still very good.  I consider it excellent for preserves with a minimum amount of sugar for a great taste.  Have not tried drying them.  I think it is a very overlooked fig.  The Celt,  did your TYTY  PSG grow to fruiting size, if not, PM me.  The tree should grow in NJ and some are large enough to stuff.

thanks for the information, I have three in pod and it seems to grow very fast and healthy, unfortunately I have three fig trees planted in my backyard and have no room for that one, do you know if they grow well in pots?

"Patrick's Super Giant"...."Texas Blue Giant" ...and similar varieties, are usually long-season figs, and probably will not ripen fruit in short-season, cooler climates like NYC.  They need strong sun, and like to bake in the heat.

I tried "Texas Blue Giant" for three years, and then sent it to a friend down South.  The figs were dry and tasteless...

I think these 'giant" figs do better down South and out on the Southern, West-Coast.

Rooted a bunch of "PSG" trees back in March(thanks to a generous Forum member), and they all made it to 1gal. pots...I'm keeping one for myself, and have given the rest to other growers and future growers..
I'm looking forward to tasting some Patrick's Super Giant figs in a couple of more seasons.     :)  :)
