Any in-ground budding in NY / NJ?

Hi all.  My in-ground Kadota is alive and has green throughout under the bark bud has yet to show any green buds.  I was hoping with the warm weather lately that it would have budded by now.  The tree was purchased last year and is a few years old and produced a handful of amazing figs last season.  Not sure if it is still too early yet for budding, but I am certain that the tree made it through the winter well.  I guess I'll just hurry up and wait.  Anyone else in the same situation?  Please help.  Thanks.

I have a small family tree in NJ that I replanted in August, a few years old as well.  I put pictures up in a different post and users told me it was still alive.  But, no buds as of yet. I'm hoping by June I'll see something...if the deer don't get to it first.

Glad to know that there's more than one of us in the same boat!   It's probably still too early then.

Some of my in grounds:
Black Madeira, Bmad002, Raspberry Latte, JH Adriatic, Kathleen Black and Pastiliere

No fair!  What do you think the issue is?  I'm in morris country.

All in grounds in NY got hammered, even w protection. Only a few are ok, only a few are breaking bud. Still too early. One of mine is leafing out slowly, another is just budding out after heavy damage. Unprotected trees that survived (very few) are not yet breaking bud.

My Dalmatie and U. Ciccio Nero are showing green buds!

My new covering method seems to have worked well (Thanks JDSfrance for the great idea!) considering the record cold we had this winter.

How are other Zone 6 people doing?

Awesome pics Pete. Your trees look very healthy and at about the same level as my in ground trees here in ATL GA.Mine had leafed out with some nice brebas but were set back big time by a late one night freeze! So now they're all starting over again. Hang in there guys. Better days are coming;).

Just noticed about three very tiny green buds under the red nubs so hopefully it starts to pick up!

So I noticed out of nowhere today, the kadota popped a green bud on old wood about 2 inches above the ground on the main trunk. I'm hoping there will be more as there's green underneath through the top (about 2ft). I'd be really upset if it put only one bud out being that the tree made it through the winter covered and unscathed but u think I uncovered it too early (April 2nd) and may have been setback from a night or two of freezing temps. Keep in mind that this was a single stem tree that I purchased and planted last spring so I'm glad to see it put out a lateral bud.

I'm from Boston and my trees started putting out small buds a few weeks ago. Some of them got damaged pretty badly because of the winter, even though I wrapped them well. There was a lot of dieback at the tips of the branches. One tree I cut back about 2 feet to the main trunk and only now are some small shoots beginning to pop out at the base of the trunk. A few others fared somewhat better. Use a good nitrogen fertilizer for in ground trees to boost that early season growth! Diluted chicken manure in water works great

Here in Maryland my last in-ground hold out is now showing a couple small green buds.  So it appears that all in ground trees survived although I don't expect most to bear fruit this year.

I'm from Westchester county NY and 2 of my ingrounds are showing some growth and a third tree that took a beating but there are buds starting to show.....finally.
