@ ejp3 - With a little luck, I may be able to sample all of them this season. All aided with help of green house. Hence the interest in setting a benchmark & selectively maximizing growing space to saviour(ideally) the best. That's the thought for now.
The figs love the green house climate & they grow well. It is definately going to be my best season for main crop figs. I should be able to sample many variants that have never ripen or ripen with poor taste due to colder weather in Oct. A few variants like Takoma Violet, Smith, Moscatel Branca, St Rita etc have responded very well with good productivity. Hence fellow British Columbians who are interested in enjoying higher quality figs apart from Latarulla, Desert King & Osborne Prolific, it is advantageous to have a green house. My green house is currently packed with plants. All small new plants I received this season have done very well & have at least tripled in size. I will remove all these young plants by month end & bring in selected variants bearing main crop figs.
