anybody bought from gardencrochet on eBay?

The seller has over 40 varieties for sale and is from CA which is nice but there is no reference to the f4f forum in the description, no ID.

All items offered in very similar ways, like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TWO-2-BLACK-MISSION-FIG-TREE-CUTTINGS-6-TO-8-INCHES-LONG-/371199210774?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item566d327516

They look good fresh cuttings though...

True, that's good but are they true to the name?
Is the seller a member of any forum or recognized by anybody from here?

I would hate to waste a year

The cuttings look good on the pics he got posted and he's got 100% feedback. So, at least, buyers seem to be satisfied with the cuttings they've received.

They all look amazing cuttings (green but healthy).
Apparently she's doing a great job shipping, It's not easy to achieve that 100% positive rating.
The only thing, as you said Igor, I hope she is honest to varieties she is selling. I want to trust her because seems like she has been around for a while on eBaying, 2842 feedback, she had 2841 transactions, sales...? wow

The seller has them all two by two as if destined for the Noah boat !!

the rating is only based on individual customers, say I sold you a dozen different things and you left me feedback on all of our transactions, the feedback only would count as 1...

No it seems nobody bought anything from this seller and she is not known here.
I will hold on the purchases.

Its prudent to buy/trade from known collecters in F4F. Better still if they are active at F4F. I see some
ebay posting on some desired cuttings from unknown sellers. Where they get such varieties and does a good
job growing them and have available cuttings for sale is beyond my reasonings.

I thought it seems likely she bought her cuttings from Jon based on the varieties and Encato red listed. This could very well have been a former active member year's ago that doesn't participate on the forums anymore. Im sure there are many others in this same scenario. If this seller wanted to actually get market value for the cuttings, they should give us some background. Just my 2 cents

They seem to have some great varieties...it would seem they almost have to be a member because they sold BLACK BETHLEHEM, and didn't that originate recently from Bass?

Has anybody tried asking this seller who she is and if she is on F4F? I saw an auction on eBay that made no mention of F4F in the ad. When I contacted him, I found out it was garden_whisperer who sent me some very nice cuttings.

Good idea.. and yes she is.

Meanwhile, she's probably selling the cuttings like pop-corn. Not everybody on eBay cares about the details we are concerned about.
I hope they are true to their names or else we will see a lot of confusion in future.

Hello everyone.... So nice of you to share my listings here on figsforfun. I've been collecting figs for about six years now. I've got them from reliable sources. Such as encanto farms and members from here. You are welcome to review my ratings on ebay. I hope that give you a sense of security. From my experience growing fig cuttings is a very rewarding task. I know how much effort it takes to do his. Therefore I wouldn't waste anyone's time offering anything that is not true to their variety. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you

Oz,
Thank you for your information, that helps.
Can you post a few photos of the fig mother plants?
Are they growing in pots or in the ground?

Welcome Oz even though you have been a member for over a year it is nice to see your first post. There will be more bidder confidence from our members now they know who they are dealing with, thanks for the post.

Hello everyone, here are some photos of my fig collection. I have a few that are growing in ground. Most of the are in 5, 10, 15 even 25 gallon pots. I grow figs as a hobby not to mention how wonderfully delicious they are 26.jpg  !
