anybody bought from gardencrochet on eBay?

Welcome to the forum mandarnaik, We like to hear of good experiences from our members when they receive cuttings and plants, especially when they receive them from other members. Congrats. Could you possibly start a new thread with a brief introduction so all of us can have an opportunity to give you a welcome. Thanks.

Thanks Waynea. There is not much with me to start a new thread. I just have a Brown Turkey and Black Mission. I am growing many fruits apart from figs though. I have heard this forum is full of knowledgeable and friendly people so just trying to learn from all the discussion that goes on here.

Welcome, Gardencrochet, to the forum. Your cuttings look wonderful on Ebay and your pictures of your whole fig collection even better :) Great job !! They look wonderful and happy.  You are so blessed to have so much space and land... Ahh... I think I might start roof gardening soon if I do not stop collecting figs any time soon. I keep finding that I am getting very close to running out of any available space (and resources too ! It is a very expensive hobby and  it is a blessing to be able to sell some cuttings on Ebay to re-cover at least some of the expenses :))  I planted  figs as a living fence all around our front yard ( yay, no HOA here so I am free to plant as I wish :)) , my side yard, my backyard and they are taking over ... but I really like them !! And everytime a new fig variety appears and it is descibed as a great tasting one... I got to have it... This fig collecting virus is very contageous and really does not want to go away yet... I am trilled to taste different varieties with my kids and explain them where those figs came from originally and share even some of the stories that come with them... My fig trees mostly grow in the ground and only couple in the pots.  I will post some new pictures at some point too (when my camera works well  :). My garden looks like " my dream in progress" and is still very much for me an unfinished project.  A lot of my figs are very young but I have big hopes for them :) I want my "dream garden" to look great for the pictures and all in order... but it is only a dream for right now. So this is what I have from older pictures and you might not see figs well since they are either behind the flowers or I was mostly trying to make pictures of my kids and roses :) I will show you all my fig collection soon, It is a  promise :)  First picture is my first fig ever : Black Jack fruit that is still ripening to it's full potential  family outings 2013 258.JPG

Here is my helper helping me plant one of those " just one more variety " trees in a special gardening hat that she adorned herself .
Enjoy your figs everyone and have very Happy Holidays :)

For some reason I can not post any more pictures... I was so proud of myself that I figured out how to post the first two... but now it tells me that my size is too  big :( and does not let me put any more pictures and I can not shrink it... Maybe next day it will let me post more. I will check again.

Hello Katerina941, it's a pleasure to meet you. Thank very much for taking the time to give me positive feedback. As amazing as it may seem I literally bought my home to accommodate my fig collection. The first thought that came to me when I bid to purchase my property I live in was finding a home for my figs. As if having 50 fig trees already was not enough! This began a never ending journey into the fig collecting world. Expenses? Well you can never really have enough of those. There is always something else that you need in order to successfully grow your fig trees. Wait, your not even done transplanting your 5, 10, or even 25 gallon trees. Yet you are ordering more fig cuttings to add to your collection. Next thing you realize not all figs are made with equal genetics. Some just grow others are just picky to so many factors. Hmmmm. That doesn't matter you want that variety. You'll baby it!!!! Pay $260 dollars for those cuttings!!! Feed it with a 24K golden spoon if need be. Control the temperature inside a greenhouse just to give it 5 star room service . Ahhhh! Just to enjoy a little sweet fig!! You take a bite into that special fig fruit.... And say! Boy, that was well worth it! Lol!!! So I know exactly what you are going through. You have a gorgeous garden! Teaching your kids is just priceless. My respects to you for giving them such wonderful knowledge. Btw, I recently purchased the Jolly Tiger from you. Thank you so much for offering it. It's really a great pleasure to share this passion for fig trees with you. In regards to the issues you were having uploading your photos. Try setting your camera settings to 640 X 480. Or modifying your images with an external application that let's you re-size them to Web ready size. I will reply to your other question later today in a PM. It's going to be 4am. Woke up for a glass of water when I seen your messages. Take good care!
