Thanks. This particular variety if you do it right, grows very rapidly . Likes to be fertilized at the correct timing.
In some cases have done it straight to the ground always with success.. first season, all priority goes to let it build a strong root system and to create a robust body... ( willow tea dilution, and rabbit manure, fish/bone meal..in light doses ).
During the first and second seasons, pinch all fig-lets ..(Courage!) - otherwise your fig will not grow
Near its third Spring, make sure you feed your plant with a good organic fertilizer and supplement later with a standard granular, rich in 'P' and 'K'.
That season, its 3rd year, you may taste a couple of figs of large size (around 80 grams).
For the connoisseur the very best fruit will come around the 4th..5th year...on
Never irrigate excessively. Mulching shall be mandatory
And, if you are in wasp country,That would be ideal.
The mention of 7 years, probably takes into account commercial considerations
