anyone heard of hirt's garden?

Thanks for the info, Brent.  When I get around to it I think I'll airlayer the largest stem and see what happens with that.  If that one has a more manageable growth habit I can just ditch the original.  I doubt in its current state it will ever produce any fruit.

I purchased 2 Blue Ischia from Hirts, one this year and 1 last year. The oldest is growing like crazy, straight up, one trunk. 30 inches, which will be pinched back or air layered to promote new branching. The new BI has a lot of shoots(8) coming from the roots and was like this when purchased. It is growing nice and I have not decided how I want it to form, bush or tree. TC plants grow vigorously, at least for me, I just hope they fruit as vigorously and tastes great.

I think my Blue ischia has fruit this year. Got it from hirts.
Have to run out and look.

edit: 2 year old no fruit

Hirt's is ok for houseplants and vegetable starts, no experience with figs from them

Here are two that I purchased from Hirt's and received May 30th last year:

The first is supposed to be an LSU Purple and the second a White Genoa (though it came labeled "White Honey Fig," you may recognize that as the cheeky tree I posted about last year). I've already taken two airlayers off of each of them. I may change my mind once I actually taste the figs they put out, but for now I would say I'm very happy with them!
