Anyone know where I can buy an Adriatic and a Kathleen Black?

I want the yellow skinned variety, but maybe the green skins turn yellow in the sun?

I also want to get 2 Kathleen Blacks - 1 for me, 1 for my sister.  Anyone know a good source for that?

Thanks!

Try Gene from East Coast Figs for Kathleen Black. Off my head, For Adriatic, you may have to try Jon, Gorgi, Herman or Trees of Joy. Not sure whether these trusted sources will have Kathleen Blk.

gene is no longer doing fig thing.. but he might response to emails. all my extra cuttings are named for this season, but i might have some more next year. i didn't get to taste any fig from KB. maybe i'll get to sample some in 2012.

Thanks!

Kathleen Black is not commercially available, you would need to grow from cuttings or buy a pre-rooted plant from an individual.  Adriatic is commercially available at a number of nurseries, that would be the most viable option.

Suggestion- If your going with an Adriatic, Make sure to get a JH strain-excellent!

Can anyone tell me what the "JH" stands for??   Thanks in advance.

Hello Sara,

I believe JH stands for John Hood. His tree is the healthiest and best from what I have read from Herman's post.

Thanks Luke!

I believe BurntRidgeNursery will have Adriatic available in the Spring.  They have not updated their website, but if you call them they will tell you what cultivars will be available and can be ordered.  I also know they will have Tilbury's BT and Vern's BT.

I second JH Adriatic.  I cannot compare it to a regular Adriatic, but I've had JH Adriatic - one fig on a first year airlayer - and it's one of the best, berry jam flavored figs I've ever tasted.
