Anyone recognize this fig?

Not sure, could it be Brown turkey?

Definitely not BT - has no purple in the skin, and is sweeter that this stage than a BT will ever be. I don't have anything like it. My Nero comes closest, but not right on.

hmm I was going to say BT but since its not I would say one of the Encanto seedling figs.

Maybe one of those
INCREDIBLE (non) EDIBLE EGGS...

or

maybe a fungus fig disease
(I forgot the actual name)
usually transmitted by fig-wasps from caprifigs
where the interns of otherwise edible-figs just brown-out..

Whatever it is, its looks are close to my Celestes.

so what is it????

I don't know, hence the request for info/ID. It was brought to me by a fellow in San Diego, whose mother bought it 20+ years ago. Doesn't really look like anything I've seen here, so I put it out there. My best guess is "something Gris" that I haven't seen yet. If it were a couple more das ripe, it appears that it would be pretty darn good.

Do you know where it came from? it looks greek, maybe because I recently picked a Greek fig that's very similar. It's all greek to me.

it was presumably purchased here in San Diego,

The top two photos are not the same fig (maybe the same tree).  I have seen these identical photos on another post.  Perhaps that person would know what they are.

All photos of figs from the same tree, and not posted anywhere else.

Jon,

just an observation :

when looking at your website is the closeness of the outside of fig. Your 5th picture here posted is very similar to your 3rd from left on your website of Violet Sepor outside only.

As for the inside both first pictures posted here and on your website of Violet Sepor look similar as well with the exception the first picture  posted here does not have the rich red color as the 1 on your website.
Looking at photo's from Richard Watts collection below is very different .
