Anyone selling?

  • jtp

I'm trying to rebuild my collection, after losing most of my plants. I'm seeking cuttings, rooted cuttings or small plants - extras anyone might be interested in selling. I don't have a lot of money to spend, but I want to get some of the varieties I lost and maybe a wishlist variety or two. If you have anything available, PM me and we can talk. Thanks.

You might have better luck posting what you want.  I don't have anything now but so far more cuttings have rooted than I expected by the grace of God and I will almost certainly have some when the rest root, the dust settles and I take inventory.

Good idea. Gosh, like most of us, I would love to try them all. Here is what I lost. I grew almost all of them from cuttings and even took the cups on vacation with me (I have a very tolerant wife), so that they would not die:

* LSU Purple

* Celeste

* Black Madeira

* Violette de Bordeaux

* Sao Joao Preto

* Several unnamed dark Portugese varieties (a couple I simply forgot the names after the labels faded)

* Branca

* Peter's Honey

* Mission (Just got a new one)

* Hardy Chicago (Just got a new one)

* Melanzana

* Mega Celeste

I'd love to get any of these, as well as any figs from Ocracoke Island (NC) and dark Greek or Portugese varieties. ("I knew it was you, Preto. You broke my heart.")

And the wishlist (a.k.a. varieties that will make a 6'5", 300-lb. man do a happy dance) includes:

* Black Madeira (The Holy Grail)

* Red Italian

* Black Triano

* Sicilian Black

* Lebanese Red

* Tashkent

* Sal's Corleone

* Gino's

As I said, I am open to just about anything anyone is willing to part with. PM me if you can help. Thanks.

PM sent, Fredfig. Thank you.

I agree, bullet08. Seems like there are a good number of fig enthusiasts here in NC. Perhaps we could all work on a yearly swap or something.

I can help with 2 cuttings of Sal's Corleone.  Since I received these through the generosity of a forum member for only the cost of postage, I extend the same offer to you.  They arrived earlier this week and are still dormant.  Send me a PM.  I also have a Celeste and Golden Celeste cuttings.  John
