I am looking for a really large fig mainly just to grow for the size, but I would like it to be at least decent tasting as well. I have not been able to find much info on "quarter pounder". Does anyone here have pics of a ripe fruit and could you describe the taste? Worth growing? Are there any figs out there that are even larger? I saw a pic on treesofjoy called Dauphin Vienna. Anyone have any experience with that one? From the pic it looks to be just massive. Thanks for any info.

I have tasted some large figs and they are ok - usually watery and mild tasting , but for me i would take 1 small good sweet rich tasting fig anyday over a dozen large watery figs but thats just me and everyone has there reasons and there different taste buds .

QP is a Brunwick fig variant that tends to produce large figs,
specially breba. All Brunwick figs tend to sour very badly if it is
rainy/damp while ripening. Sooo, I only recommend it only if your
region is dry.  Your profile does not even show your USDA zone,
let alone the prefered region (say state), that WOULD make
answering questions much, much more easier for everybody.

When QP behaves, its taste is good (above average).

Sure there are more big figs, e.g., Black Jack, Madeliene dDS
& Guilbeau, to mention a few.

Well, the poor taste in rainy conditions probably bumps that of the list then. I am in central FL. Pretty much rains every day here.
