I haven't followed all of the grafting and budding threads real closely so maybe this has already been covered.
Just wondering if anyone has used chip budding for figs. 
Sounds like it gives you a larger window to work with as the bark doesn't need to be slipping when you do it.

I have had great luck with chip/escutcheon grafting on my fig tree.  See my frankenfig thread for links, I think, though Jon's pretty much covers it.
