Do you have Nero and if so is the skin on Negretta similar it looks the same but the interior color on Negretta is much prettier.

Those must be super good! Look at how the pulp has bled through the skin. Wow. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration Martin.

Looking very good Martin.

Daygrower i have a Belleclare Nero but no figs this season tree is young.

BLB -yes i know what you mean.

JD & Rafed - Thanks
You know i was unhappy with this plant last season it was a big let down , the first fig last season i ate was good then all afterwards they were not and i thought ok your on my list of needs to improve greatly or you will go in a couple years.
The fig plant did a 360 on me this season it really did.

Those were riiiiiiiiipe!

Just catching up from the weekend

You are killing me Martin with all those pics of ripe/juicy yummy looking figs!

Someday, I will be posting pics like that.  Borrowing a quote from Brad Pitt in my favorite movie "A River Runs Through It" - yep that movie about fly fishing!

"Only need three more years before I can think like a fig".

Of course he said fish, but............

Very nice fig Martin are they sweet tasting like a negronne or vdb?Thank you

Martin
You are a patient man to to watch and let the figs ripe this far. I could not have waited since they could have been looking yummy for a few days now.

Hi Rob,
yeah its sweet in its own right for sure. VdB is sweet in its own right as well just 2 different tasting figs and one could tell blindfolded which one there eating if they have tasted both types.

Hi Akram,
always nice to hear from you how are your fig trees this season .

Akram i can wait because some other trees are in good fruiting period and  always something getting nice and ripe daily in this time period now.

Martin
My fig trees were slow this year but not disappointing. I had good number of brebas. So far only one Brunswick" main crop seems to be close to ripening.

Though we have the same Zone 5 defining our locations for coldness only but our summers are different that is why I believe that every location should have two "Zone numbers" to properly define it, winter-zone number and summer-zone number to fully reflect the weather situations. Probably that is in the future.
BTW, I get most of my ripe figs from plants crowded close to a south facing wall that is less windy location so warm air is not blown away. Now I will go and eat the last breba at 'Peter Honey' which should be ripe enough.
The 'Martin Unknown (round black)' has some main crop figs this year. We shall see if they will ripe the first year.
