There is no 'Sofeno Prato' as a fig name here!

But there are still a few 'Sofeno Preto' around ... which is this fig : a delicacy becoming rare now!
Their juices are so tasty that the birds, probably a smart golden oriole does not beck the fruit flesh/skin before sipping all its jelly.

The markings on the skin of the left fig denote those many 'landings'
On the right, that crystal drop of honey may have just started to ooze ..with just one nail marking


 

The fig shown on that old topic is on some areas known as: 'Tres num Prato' or ' 3 on a dish' is no synonym to Sofeno Preto

Prato = dish..plate..
Preto = black
Tres  = three (3)

I believe that is what was mentioned in that thread.

Francisco, it sounds like a fig perfect for our climate here in Southern California where we have summer year round (right, Greenfig?). :-)

Francisco, you describe it like a painting...beautiful and unique. A specialty amongst figs.
