Are those Black Madeira cuttings in good conditions?

I just received today 3 cuttings of Black madeira from a seller from ebay directly from Portugal. The cuttings took about 12 days to arrive. I only see one good cutting, the other two seems to be dry. Let me know your opinions. They also feel very dry, not fresh at all. I don't have to say that those cuttings are very expensive $38.50 for 3 cuttings.

Soak them all in a tall glass of water for 12-24 hours to give them the best chance. Then proceed with whatever rooting methods you choose. Good luck.

I concur they seem to be ok. I live in AZ so everything little dry looks great. These will make it.

I hope there not fake

They look like good healthy cuttings looking at the green nubs. Root those guys in water. Change water every two days. you will see white spots in a week. Then root in favorite media. My opinion this works best for me.

If you cut the bark a bit and the underneath is green in color, then it should be ok

They look ok, but do they have any flex when slightly bending them?  That is a good indicator for thinner cuttings.  You can also try snipping the bottom to see if you get a fresh layer or a brittle snap.

Hi,
They all look fine. They have lots of nodes.
I would cut each cutting in two. And you'll be starting 6 cuttings. Put them in a cup of water for them to get some extra moisture and then root them as you like.
Good luck !

As for the variety, could you trace its origin ? To Madeira ?

my friend all 3 cuttings are good.
you only see one as goog because it is the only one with fresh growth...
the other 2 are better, they are old wood that roots faster.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but won't a USDA rep be showing up to confiscate these cuttings?

If he was in US they would.

In growing other plants before I started figs here, I always made a fresh cut so as to allow more water absorption.  I think they will all be fine just give them a lot of TLC right now.

What is TLC?

Thank you guys for your recomendations and advice. . I wrote the seller and sent him the picture, he told me that if they do not pull roots, he would refund my money or send me new cuttings. I hope of the cutting root well, so I would not need new cuttings.

It just means taking good care of it (Tender Love & Care).
