Area Minus Fig Plants

Had a some snow last couple days. This area is where my fig plants are usually when the season is right. My dogs would be on the watch for birds and squierlls as well.
Oh it will be nice once fig season is back !

Ignore the time stamp in picture i dont know what they did to camera when they went to Florida !

Sal

Nice photos Martin,

Looks like you had quite a bit more snow up your way than we did.
Not trying to hi-jack your thread or anything Martin, but this is what we woke up to yesterday:

The first pic is the view from my back porch. That green clump on the right is my yellow groove bamboo. Our property ends just past that. The other is a shot of three of the fig trees my neighbor gave me back in November. They sure look cold now! I hope they make it.

Our current temp outside is 17 F. This is turning out to be a very cold winter for us.

The small building you see, in the background of the 2nd pic, is the property of one of my neighbors on my east border.

Saxonfig,
thats what i hate about them dang cottonwood trees they leave a mess when seeding and it kinda looks like snow !
 ; )

we have about 1.5" on the ground in front of the house right now.  i really want to work over my tomato beds, but i can't till the soil because it's all frozen.

Martin,

I know the feeling.
When I go home I look at my back yard and think back how nice it looks during the summer when everything thing is in full bloom and can't wait till spring and start it all over again.

Maybe one day I will dig up some pictures and post them here.

Your yard will be rocken and rollin soon enough.

Very funny Martin. Cottonwood trees - ha, I wish! It's cccooold here in KY by any standard.

I have one of those big blue cattle watering tanks that I sank partially in the ground for a goldfish pond. Yesterday when I took the pics, the kids wanted to go out & play (school snow day) ooooh won't that be fun - right! So I bundled 'em up good & they went "skating" on the goldfish pond. They got a kick out of it anyway - in spite of the biting northwest wind.

Ditto Jason's sentiment. If the soil wasn't so frozen I could at least be out digging bamboo rhizomes & offering 'em on ebay. I'd need a mattocks & axe just to get a few inches right now.
Gotta get rid of the bambooz to make room for fig trees (I hope anyway) :-).

Yes rafed, it's those visions of summer & vine ripe tomatoes that's keeping me going right now. Guess we just got to bundle up and make the best of it until then.
