The Armenian fig main crop is starting to ripen.  You can drive a truck through the eye though.

That is truly an eye of Goatse proportions.

And its pointing up so it's like a rain barrel

If it doesn't sour, i'll be amazed.

Armenian is near the top of my list of varieties to go when I start running out of space.  It dropped many of it's fruit in 2010.  What held on was good but not great.  It did not produce in 2011 (but then again, nothing else did either), and it is looking doubtful for 2012.  It doesn't like the cold and it doesn't seem to like the heat.

I have a few years to go before I start running out of space.  This will buy it some time to change it's ways.  Is anyone else having a similar experience with it?
