Hey Pete,I just got an email from another member showing pics of his. Look at the long stem.My plants don't have any figs on them yet.
hey art, i have two that survived the cup stage. i usually don't expect figs on first yr. but that fig is very interesting on that pix. that thing has neck even longer than my Col de Dame Blanche. leaf shape matches the ones i have also. i'm definitely looking forward to this one. i'm hoping the teachers at the school will know something about the plants and won't kill the one i give to them.
Pete, I got some more info on that fig. I visited the Syrian guy a couple days ago. He has two of this variety in ground. Both of them had no die back and we had a bad winter this year. He wrapped both trees with clear plastic only.I also asked him if the figs had a pit inside. He said no. (thank god)
void in the middle isn't so bad... as long as it's filled with honey :)
Art & Pete, It is a very good grower in my yard. It is 36" tall from the top of the soil.
Here's one of them. Started from the same batch.Sorry about the dark pictures. It's a little late.
This is a picture that Bugs sent to me. It's almost ripe. Let's hope it tastes good. I don't think I will get a ripe one.
