This is my little Black Mission fig from last summerNot breaking out yet this year so far. Spent the winter in the basement though so should be fine when it wakes up. Had to take some to work for lunch and got a friend at work turned on to figs. I got her a Chicago Hardy last week, and encouraged her to come here to the forum! I was fascinated by the cracking skin!
And my favorite! My Black Jack from last year. This one has broke out a couple buds and baby whitish yellow leaves I noticed earlier this week. Taking her in and out of the garage, which is OK, she is still small. And this is why she is my favorite, so pretty and divine taste! Better than even my memories of figs when I was a kid in California. I have no idea what kinda fig trees we had there back then. But they sure weren't as pretty as this
That black jack is purdy, nice pics!
cracking skins are beautiful... well on the figs. on my hands.. it's just nasty.
Thanks for sharing the picture they are nice to look at.
@Marie, thanks for the pics, they are beautiful figs... I'm glad you brought up, Black Jack, I just planted one, not knowing what it looks like.
My black mission was the last to show buds. It also had some severe die back. Don't give up hope.
