Atreano fruits pix,-Oct15 2010

I am coming back to this cultivar to say:An excellent comercial, with a strong potential.
Now on OCT 15,My 4 years old had fruits with excellent taste despite 10 days of uncommon cold nights(40F),and rain.
It is not Col de Dame but close to it ,in today taste, and this one is an easy to grow even for a first year gardener.

Herman,

This is one of my earliest fruiting varieties. I would have thought that yours would have ripened before now. What am I missing?

This is great news Herman. Mine is a full 2 years in the ground and the second main crop has been fabulous this fall. I agree it is easy to grow---fastest growing tree in my collection. Just to clarify, mine is the Rolling River strain and if I remember correctly, yours is too?

Sassy,

That would explain it. The "RR" variety is definitely later, and mine are just beginning to ripen. Does not seem to be the same as the "OR" (Belleclare) version as it has a different shape and ripens much later.

I am not sure the origine of this one, because I got cuttings in a trade, from a fellow gardener, and he stated ,he got the cuttings from Seed saver exchange, and so I did not search any farther than that.
To Jon Verdick:Jon:I had  the main bach of main fruits in early August,(about 5-10 August),but they were not as tasty as this second main harvest.
It had a couple of very good tasting breba in July too.
It had many more brebas but I removed them and only three made it to ripe two I left and one I missed to remove.
I posted now ,again because the Flavor and taste is much better, and is so late in the season here,a very promissing for me,and other on east coast.
Memorable flavor and taste ,this time.

By the way:This tree is inground, and was last winter, another plus here.
