Baby Noire De Caromb

One of some cuttings propagated (not by me) straight from the village of Caromb .
Hope to taste some seasons down the road.

Better take that little plant to bed with you.
Otherwise I'm coming to get it.

Your not right !

PS:
Bring a teenager with you so he can get over the fence as you might fall down trying.   ; )

Martin,

I would get down on my knees and beg you for it before I would ever think of stealing it. But I know very well that you know I was kidding.

I wish you many years of happiness with this tree and look foreword to seeing you post the first fig from it.

I lost the cuttings I saved for myself, tough luck I guess but I am grateful that another member is giving me one since the two I gave were successful. I was really heart broken because I wanted this one and another variant.

Another member offered to give back his plant now since I gave him the cutting but I respectfully turned it down.

Just a matter of time when I have mine home.

It's true,'
What goes around comes around. In a good way.

Mine are heavy with FMV but growing well.

Sue,

Your fmv figs have nice color pattern.

Hi Sue, it been a while since I said so. What is the source of your trees is it the same as Martin?
"gene"

Hi Gene,

I have 2 sources but hesitate to mention them without their permission. Don't want them innundated with requests if ya know what I mean. So far I have 3 trees potted, one I potted up today and 2 still thinking about rooting. I hope to have enough trees for some cuttings next year or the year after. It's one tree I'm putting in the ground so it should grow well.

Sue

Congrats to Martin & Sue. I have been jinxed badly on this variant. They were all at the same stage as your plant -- i.e. after going into 1gal pot, I had bad news. This coming season, I have to start again.

Paul,

I think these plants don't like to be moved when they are young and at the rooting process.

I say this because my last two of each of the Noir De Caromb and Col De Dam Noir were planted in two pots and across from each other. I had them in the garage and broke bud and were growing well with some crisp leaves.
Very healthy and vibrant.

About three weeks ago I decided to move them outside and just almost over night things went downhill. Now they are gone!

Same thing happened a couple days ago when I moved a different plant. leaves all wilted.

I think next time I will take a different approach and wait longer before I move them.

I will post a different thread on this at the right time.

But here are some pics of what I could have still had if I didn't move them so soon.

Two of the cuttings I experimented with by growing them in a peat pot. These are growing vigorously. Up-potted one of them in a one-gal about 3 weeks ago and placed outside in the shade so there was no disturbance of the root system...maybe a thought for next time? The other is still in the peat pot in my kitchen window/western facing. It shows more FMV than the one outside from the same source...

Here is picture in its first pot .
I waited a week after receiving then put it into slightly bigger pot to straighten out the branch that was growing sideways.

The root system is nice for its size i noticed , its put on several leaves and i have used miracle grow fertilizer along with horns superthrive to give some added supplements to this young plant.

It stood at attention the next day. ; )

I really enjoy them when there small for me it's fun to watch them grow.
Thats one of my favorite things about fig plants.

Hi Sue,
My Noire de Caromb also has FMV.However it's growing very quickly to 16 inches at this time in a 2 gallon pot with very large leaves.I am very excited about this fig.
Good luck with yours.

Probably some character off here! I'll put a dollar in mine with my address so you can ship them back when i get caught!

THOSE ARE RAFEDS PANTS

Someone stole rafed's pants?

Who would .... uh, better yet why would anyone .... ugh.   ;)

Read post #14 then click pictures. It explains the story.  ; )

I guess that answers whether he's a boxers or briefs kinda guy.
