Bad experienece with member "fespo"

A couple of days ago http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/profile/1454057 posted that he'd like to buy 1,000 cuttings of Hardy Chicago.  Some folks had a pretty negative knee jerk reaction and came down hard on him.  I was a nice guy and contacted him and he gave me his phone number.  I told him I didn't have that many but could supply quite a few and bounced around the price of $1-$2/cutting and he said he wouldn't pay more than $1.50.  I cut 178 cuttings for him today and sent him a PM offering them at $200 with shipping.  He then tried to work me down to $175 but I told him $194 was the lowest I'd go ($1/cutting plus shipping) and he then said he'd pass.

I can make more money selling just a portion of them on eBay but I hope to save anyone else the bother of wasting time with this guy.

Yea Harvey I wasn't feeling this guy from the start. Just too many weird things going on..

HA!, lesson learned, (too bad on your expense Harvey).
Thant's why I was saying I need to see CASH before even cutting tree into pieces.
some people are looking for dead horse to remove the horseshoes off of it...what can I say...
Solly, no cuttings!!

I may seem harsh , sometimes, but don't take me for stupid, STUPIT.
That's all I have to say for him or any other person who is looking for a sucker. Move on and go the the OTHER "forum wanna be" .
Thank you very much.

Harvey sell them in bunches of ten , sure members will snatch them up ,i would as i need the rotting practice

Harvey, put up for s/h only totaling $6.
you'll include 2 cuttings per package, you can still get up to 3/package for cuttings if you send them regular mail.
Hope it could help your situation...:)

That's too bad.  Sorry things didn't work out.

Harvey that sucks. I already have HC but if you want to get rid of some Ill take a dozen. I'll find them a good home. PM me a price.

I killed all my HC cuttings Harvey, I'll buy some!!!

That's a bummer.  Sounds like he just wanted to rip you off.

I am probably going to do a sale on eBay and am thinking of a fixed price of $3/each plus shipping.  I already have another large sale planned, however, and the two of them together would essentially wipe out my monthly eBay limit of 300 items so I need to give them some further thought before going ahead with that.  If that sort of price is something you're able to work with, please send me a PM.  Sales of larger quantities can fetch lower prices so you can make me an offer if you want a lot.

Edit: I decided to charge a flat shipping charge of $6 (same for 1 pair or 20 pairs)

Harvey,

It looks like fespo has deleted his/her account.  I tried clicking the link in your post and doing a member search.  Nada.  Do you recall where he/she resides?

Chicago.  He deleted his account shortly after sending me a PM and he also sent me a couple of text messages after that.  Not worth wasting any more time with him.

Hit'n run case, seriously.
I hope he can live with this incidence.
Harvey, if you want, I can let you use my ebay account.
I want to help.
PM me regarding this.

Sorry that happened to you Harvey.

$3.ea is a fair enough price. You could likely do better on eBay but it all depends on how much effort you want to put into it. You may find enough takers here to take them off your hands.

Sorry, I can't use any. Actually have some of that one I need to move myself.

Okay, thanks everyone.  I have put these up for auction, $6 for a pair, $6 shipping regardless of buying 1 pair or 20 pairs.  This auction is for only 40 pairs and I will start another auction after the first of the month if I still have more left. http://www.ebay.com/itm/361193761879

Harvey,

If you call Ebay and ask them to raise your limit as the growing season is upon us and you have many items to offer, they will increase your limit as long as your seller performance is in good standing. It takes about 5 minutes to have them do it.

Just a thought, as your business shouldn't be limited by these types of restrictions.

Note to self: only take cuttings on huge orders after money is recieved.

Saw a post on garden web forum where fespo said he's had enough of f4f and has deleted his account .

thanks for the great offer on eBay. I bought mine today, looking forward to their arrival.

if you have any other cold hardy varieties let me know.

Hi Harveyc,
Sorry for you. It would really p*ss me off to run into such a problem.
Now that they are cut, try your best to sell them to other people that want them . Don't make a fire, just out of rage :( .
Even if the guy had bad feelings, your offer was just in between you and him, and you were trying to help him out. So no reason to refuse the offer just because he deleted his account .
oh well ... Seller's risk ...

Yeah, he use to be a member here.  Now, he's "bad mouthing" this forum over at the other forum.  http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/fig/msg081639275818.html?70

I wish him all the best.  This is a good forum.  smh....

Maybe he'll fit in well with that korina77 over there at GW, she's one of the suspected scammers.

I had already called eBay yesterday and they doubled my limit but it's still a potential problem with this bulk sale and one more planned for next week.  My monthly limit is 300 items.  That seems like a lot (it is), but still a problem when I throw in a couple of bulk sales.
