It has been a real bad fig year around these parts this year.
Has anyone else in East TX had such a terrible fig year?
This time last year the Wife & I had made 50+ pints of fig preserves, this year a whopping 4 pints!!!!!!!!!.

thats a large drop in production.
Was it the heat?
Have you ever considered putting several in a large pot maybe in a semi shaded area by porch area in semi shade and you can water them for convienience with the ones inground?

The tree we got most of the figs from approx. 90% came from and old Celeste tree (Friends tree) this year the same tree has nearly no figs ripening..I think it was because of a really late frost, But what do I know??, Speaking of figs in pots, I just re-potted my one and only Guilbeau into a 3 Gal nursery pot.Hopefully that will help it fight this darn Texas heat......Now to the Martins unknown it is out in that boiling hot sun just a smiling, it never shows any wilting...Tough little rascal (Temps right now a cool 99*) Thanks.
