Balkan's Grey Fig

Balkanlarin Grisi ( Turkish name) is a common fig grown in my backyard.

It is small size but very productive and very sweet. This fig tree was grown by my grandfather many years ago and we are so fortunate to inherit this special variety. According to my grandfather, this variety was introduced to our country by the Balkan immigrants who immigrated during the Balkans war. The fruit is one of our family favourite and children's enjoy this sweet, almost like a candied berry flavoured fig very much.
I am really happy to introduce such a rare variety to other figgers.

Man if I lived in Europe I wouldn't hesitate to bid on your cuttings.  Good Luck, I hope one day we will see it on our side.

How cool is that to have a piece of your family spread all over the world for others love and cherish!

Same, Don! Does anyone have this one in the US?

Ditto to Ross's comment...
