Barnissotte figs starting to ripen.

Moral of the story, don't judge a book by its cover or a fig by its skin.
tom, is it USDA/UCD Barnissotte, or some other source? how was the taste?
It's got a very interesting skin color. How does it taste?
I wasn't as good as I remember last year but it is the first one. It was mildly sweet but the skin has it's own sweetness too. You also get some fig crunch from seeds. I'm looking forward to the larger one ripening this week.
two i rooted this yr from UCD are finally responding. they are still 5-6" tall with handful of leaves. i heard this one is not too easy to grow. slower growing trees until it decide it's time.
Nice work Tom...the figs look great...I have the Barnissotte cuttings on order from UC Davis for 2014 delivery...after seeing your results I am even more excited about receiving them and getting started... :) :)
I like the looks of it.
It's a good looking figgoss
Tom, How tight has the eye been on this variety under your growing conditions? Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for the very informative pics and video Tom. I am currently trying to root a cutting and now am very anxious that it takes !
A more ripe Barnissotte fig turning yellow too.
Tom, Thanks for answering my question and posting more pictures. I have a couple of varieties that are supposed to be synonymous with and/or similar to barnisotte, but they haven't fruited for me yet. Thanks again
