Beall Cuttings Enjoying a Sunbath

Hey guys,
I have seen a leaf getting dark from the humid bag so I exposed the cuttings to air in the shade for a day, then I put them in direct sun yesterday for 2 hours to see what they do. Now they seem to enjoy the sunbath I am giving them.
One cutting is refusing to root, I put it in a cup with a plastic bag so it can root. I hope it does...
Well, I got 2 that rooted and growing leaves ;)

Good luck to all guys rooting this time of year!

Looking good there Speedmaster. They look very healthy! Do you use any fertilizer at this point?

And thank you! I have started rooting a few cuttings myself...I honestly forgot how long it takes to show any real progress. But the patience will pay off.

Take care!

Good looking cuttings, Be very careful with full Sun....:)

I do not use any fertilizer I just let them root and take their time doing that. I am very careful about fertilizers. Too much bad experiences with them.
Thanks :)

Thanks, Yeah I keep an eye and check them every 2-3 hours. I think I will add wax to the top of the cuttings as they seems to be drying from the top cut portion a bit.

Glad to see you got this one, probably will do great at your location.

Beautiful little leaves!  Good luck with the sun bathing!

Congrats. Looks like you are in the right track with that cutting.

I decided to do the same thing with a batch of RdB and MvsB a couple months ago. I got distracted, and the Sun got a lot hotter than I thought it would. All shriveled up by the end of the day. Ouch! Just kicked myself again.

Thanks gus, I hope it will make large good tasting figs :)

Yeah I keep an eye on them. I even made someone tell me if they see anything wrong with my little babies XP
I even isolated them inside the courtyard garden so no birds or animals attack them.

Beal is known to be a very old fig variety.

Yeah 90 years I think.

I thought it would be much much older :)

Oh, I think that there are very very old ones in Egypt and Syria that might reach the 500+ age.
I view beall as fairly old. It is older than I am after all ;)

They found an ancient fig orchard of what they believe was a kadotta type fig and dated it to more than 5000 years old? There is an article somewhere,do a google search and it ll pop up! Figs were one of the first if not the first domesticated tree! Awesome isn't it?

Figs, Grapes, Date Palms, Jujubies, ...etc are fruits of the old world. They are very ancient. Quince I think is very old too. It is amazing to find an ancient variety ;)
