Nice photography Grasa, and beautiful baby fig trees.  Love it.

so in love... not even funny!

Grasa, nice pics. It appears that you have atleast two types of soil mixtures in the cups.

Care to share what they are?

Beautiful babies Grasa.

You must be so proud!

Suzi

Mike, I really have not get the 'chem' of  the soil yet.. I use  whatever I have or can put my hands on....even found myself cooking garden soil in the oven to be able to use....did I say that?   I found that what seems to work best for me, is to put crumbed styrofoam at the bottom of the cup and a light soil, so whatever is in it that works, even pine needles did ( or crumbled styrofoam)... and after I put in the cup, I try covering the stick completely to hold that limited moisture needed so, may be  used up newspaper or moss they were nesting in during rooting process, once leaves appear, I remove that loose materials (pine needles, paper, or moss) to allow the leaf to process the light , but then, there are roots...

when I prepare the cup, I put styrofoam at bottom and  fill it almost full, add water and with 2 fingers, I open a ft hole in the middle. the moist soil stays on the outter side I put the cutting in the middle of the hole and fill the hole with  soil/perlite (50/50). so, around the cutting itself is a very porous matter - also I make several holes on the sides of the cup.

Grasa, thank you so much for sharing. There are some good ideas in your descriptions.  If they have worked well for you
maybe some of us should give it a try also. Keep us updated on your babies please.

they are all misbehaving babies, nothing in straight marching line, nothing alike, their texture is different also, except one of ArtWhite and the RdB has fussy fir all over... they wiggle and move, lay down and move a lot. to window for light to heater vent for warm... I need a heating chamber/growing light or something.  They are just too cute. How not to love them? that 3rd to last was totally dead, it was a Kadota sucker, so I decided to put it laying  down and it came to life... guess it was tired! it is pretty cute.

The are adorable!  Have you noticed all of natures babies are cute?

Love the pics! Great job!!!

Great pictures Grasa !!  they are all so different and all sooo cute !!!

CUTIES! I love baby greens, I always get exited when I find new green growth on my rooting cuttings. There is something nice about caring, pampering them, and seeing them grow.

How are those BDV turning out? have they shown any signs of life? are they in one of those  pictures?

That is a nice age to be, Grasa. Enjoy their innocence for soon they will start dating, thumbing their nose at authority and playing loud rock music. Oh wait...never mind.

FMD, my grapevines are no longer teens, and they respond quite nicely when I play classical music for them.  I have a feeling my figs will love Jimmy Buffet, Rod Stewart, the Eagles, and Garth!  "Hot Legs," could really inspire them!

Grasa's babies are almost as sweet as mine... oh, and yours ;-))

I can't decide which is more exciting!  Seeing them leaf out, or the first roots!  Probably the roots!  It's like a sonogram!  Promises of a new tree!  Just found 3 new varieties with healthy roots this morning, but due to all the company for Thanksgiving, they won't get planted until Sunday or Monday.

I am visualizing an upright shelving rack - may have to improvise one in a door or something...so I can chase the sunlight with the entire thing...rather than one by one... This fig thing was the best thing in my life, at the moment! It made me forget the other problems and worries become secondary concerns.
