Besides figs

It's the most wonderful time of the year for me. Lots of different fruit are ripening now.
Besides figs I grow many different things. Here are some of the things that are ripening at the garden. Those are just picked today.
Can you guess what they are?

I recognize the persimmon, maybe if they were spread out a Little more, aw that would not help.

Paw paw and jujube it looks like to me.  Enjoy!

You're right... Pawpaw, Jujube, Persimmon and figs.

Bass
How long does a pawpaw tree takes to start fruiting in your area?

From seed pawpaw produce within 6 years, Grafted trees will produce sometimes in 3 years. They are wonderful, the taste varies from one tree to another.

i've got 4 paw paw trees, and 3 more on the way. paw paw suffers from the same problem figs do... doesn't ship and hold after harvest well. there has been quite a resurgence in paw paw for the home garden in recent years. univ of kentucky is a leader in research. i got my plants from this source. it's my understanding that the grafted plants don't do nearly as well as those from seed.

extremely interesting fruit. i don't know whether the chill hours are sufficient at my location to actually get any fruit, but i ought to have nice plants.

very nice bass. i've either got all these plants as well, or they're on order for the fall. what are your varieties of persimmon and jujube?

Man I hope my Pawpaws fruit soon have a 4ft davis and an 2ft NC-1 and a couple seedlings. Nice pics Bass

Persimmon I have hana fuyu, great wall, Kyungsan bansi, saijo, keener, Russyanka, and an unknown.
Jujube I have: Li, sugarcane, honey jar, Tsao, Chico, abbeyville, sihong, Lebanese, and a Gi789, all those I grafted on one tree. I have many newly grafted ones that aren't in the ground.

I've been eating pawpaws nearly daily for close to a month, they are delicious! These are wild fruit, found along the James river. I have three varieties of Peterson pawpaws coming my way, they were supposed to be shipped Sept 15 but I've not seen them yet.  I wonder how much tastier can they get, the wild ones are so good, and the Peterson varieties I chose are top rated for flavor of the many cultivars out there.

Sure wish paw paws would grow in Tucson! Can't have everything, I guess.

Hey Bass are those Overleese Pawpaws?

Those are seedling Pawpaw, an unamed variety the ones in the picture.
I'm going to visit a friend that has a pawpaw patch near his creek. He has the largest pawpaws I've ever seen almost 2 lbs. They are "mango", "Sunflower", and other large unamed varieties. I'll be collecting as many as I want. I should have seeds saved from the best ones.

Wow those are from seedlings thats great. I have also grown two from seeds and the thing I found interesting was that the taproot was atleast 7 Inches before the seed emerged from the soil very Interesting plant. I have 5 Pawpaws now all different sizes I bought a big one from Grimo this year but its been very dissapointing since it only grew 3 inches and then stoped growing and the leaves are a quarter of the size of all my others. The grimo is my biggest its just over 4ft. & I think I read somewhere that they only fruit after 6ft is this right?
