best approach for rooting spring cuttings???

What is the best approach for rooting spring cuttings -- cuttings where the tree has already begun to "flush" and put out leaves?
a) cut off all leaves (and any fig embryos) and root in sphagnum moss?
b) cut off some leaves (and any fig embryos) and root directly in a cup of medium?
c) other...

In this case the leaves are still relatively small (e.g. less than 2").  I know that if I put them directly in a box/bag the leaves would probably end up rotting before roots formed.

Thanks,
Jim

Try the Forsythe pot... It works. I was able to get roots in less than 3 weeks (with rooting hormone). I started tip cuttings that were collected on 4/12/2013 and they are currently in cups and growing.

I just asked this question myself. Pot up in moist soil and keep humid. I put mine in a clear Rubbermaid tote in the shade. After a month. Viola roots! Good luck. (I use rooting hormone, but apparently it's not necessary). I buried mine up to the leaves, not sure if that's necessary.

Sorry Aaron -- I only had a minute to post a message before getting kicked off the computer ;-)
Between this thread and your previous one I got lots of ideas.  As suggested, I think I'll hedge my bets and try 2 or 3 ways.

Strip it down to a normal cutting (hardwood) and root like anything else. The fact that it has started flushing means that it will root more quickly, generally speaking.
